TRESPA® METEON® ADDS WARMTH TO TEXAS MEDICAL CENTERS
Continuing to expand throughout Texas, Baylor Scott & White Health added three new medical centers in and around the greater Austin area. With projects in Pflugerville and Buda completed in 2019 and Austin in 2020, the team at Page Southerland Page, Inc. (also known as “Page”) had a unique opportunity to brand these projects. “With materials, we wanted all three facilities to look and feel the same, both inside and outside,” said Lisa Bradley, Associate Principal & Architect at Page. The team out of Page’s Dallas office sought warmth when designing these medical centers. “We wanted the look of wood without using wood,” Lisa shared. The Page team was familiar with Trespa® products’ high durability and had successfully used it in past projects. Lisa also shared that low maintenance was a key factor in selecting materials. “The less the facility’s group has to worry about it, the better it is.”

When submitting project plans, the city of Pflugerville was not familiar with Trespa® Meteon®. The team went before city council to obtain approval. From there, the installation was fairly straightforward. The team pushed the limit in terms of layout and panel sizes. Used both horizontally and vertically, NW14 French Walnut was selected surrounding the medical center entrances. Both building owners and visitors alike appreciate the completed buildings, from the warmth and familiarity of the cohesive design to the clean and modern aesthetic.
