Tribute at Black Hill

Situated in Germantown, Maryland’s picturesque community of Black Hill, the new Tribute at Black Hill senior living community was designed to enrich and engage its residents. It was developed for the comfort of home with engaging programs for various phases of life. Constructed in 2020, the extensive property includes courtyards, walking trails, and restaurant-style dining, among other amenities.

Based out of Atlanta, Georgia, the team at THW Design was familiar with Trespa^® brand products and chose Trespa^® Meteon^® for an architectural design feature. Pure White panels in the Satin finish were selected to wrap the corner features of the building, home to some of Tribute at Black Hill’s gathering spaces. The panels can be seen from the street surrounding the Wellness Program and Multi-Purpose Room for residents. Along the property’s Nature Trail, the panels clad the library.

Developing the building on a tight site was a challenge, and the design was influenced by the owner’s goals and budget for the overall project. Senior Project Manager Bill Davis from THW Design shared some key factors for incorporating Trespa^® Meteon^® panels into the design. “We chose Trespa^® materials for their aesthetic and durability. We also had established methods of installation that supported the design. There were no surprises during the installation on the building.” Bill shared that the general contractor (Scott-Long) provided a full-scale mock-up for review by the architectural team and ownership to ensure smooth installation.

A LEED Silver certified property, Bill shared that the owner is delighted with the look of the finished building. Beyond the aesthetics, the owner also appreciates the low maintenance of Trespa^® Meteon^® cladding. A true collaborative effort between architectural and land planning teams, THW Design delivered a beautiful building, full of top-notch amenities to service the new residents.
